Woodland Park Improvement Project 2009
McDonald Village Council has decided to undertake an improvement project
to part of Woodland Park. The tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball courts
have been removed and will be replaced with new courts. Three tennis courts are being replaced
with four tennis courts. The basketball courts will now be played north and south on four new courts.
Two regulation volleyball courts will be added on the south end of the basketball courts. Proper
drainage has been installed in the entire area for the drainage of all court facilities. A storm water
runoff area has been added on the southeast corner to collect rain water during a heavy downpour.
This area will allow water to slowly drain off into the storm sewer. In the wintertime, the Village can
raise the drain in the storm water runoff area and create an ice skating rink. The project is expected
to be completed in November, weather permitting.
